Development
Design Charette - In October 2009, Legacy partnered with New City Design Studio to produce a student design charette where architecture students re-envisioned space in the Electric Co. Mall building adjacent to NCSU campus on Hillsborough Street. The event was a great opportunity for students to use the skills they were acquiring in school to directly impact the local community before graduation.
Business Competition – The e-Games are a multi-disciplinary celebration of student entrepreneurship at NC State. Legacy helped plan and promote the competition in Spring of 2010, which empowered to students to pitch their ideas to influential business owners and investors and win cash to turn their innovative visions into reality.
Community
Live It Up! Festival – September 25th, 2010 Legacy executed the biggest festival to ever hit Hillsborough Street. The award-winning event, which boasted over 20,000 attendees, featured local businesses, artisans, and performers, and united the local community for an all day celebration of North Carolina culture!
Environment
H St. Renaissance – Creating this event is what launched Legacy in Spring of 2009. The all day eco-friendly celebration of green technology, vendors, and sustainable artisans featured a fashion show, organic cook-off, pig’n’pie barbeque, and alternative fuel vehicle showcase. Despite the cold, March rain, the event sold out of venue tickets, raising money for Engineers Without Borders, MorLove, and 500 pairs of shoes for Soles4Souls. The festival was the catalyst for the creation of Legacy illustrating that students, families, and professionals could unite for a common cause, benefit local and global communities, and have fun while doing it!
